Beating Heart
Audiovisual installation, videoproject, audio speakers
The animation – conceived in the form of projection mapping on the facade of a building under reconstruction – transforms the map of the L’Aquila, destroyed by an earthquake in 2009, into a beating heart.
At each pulse, the boundaries break and release energy, revealing a recurring triangular module. The triangle, due to its geometric property of non-deformability, is the founding element of the architectural survey: the operation of representing space on a scale that allows one to not only know the reality, but is also essential to planning a restoration. The work is a metaphor for the vital tension that should animate the inhabitants of each city, transforming them into a community, a living organism.
